Ride out of the city into the Peak District
SHEFFIELD START & FINISH
Sheffield is a gem of the north, which is not only surrounded by amazing countryside and climbs but also offers a buzzing cosmopolitan city.
With great transport connections, you can easily get to Gravel Escape and get home again, without using a car.
Starting and finishing in the heart of Sheffield, escape traffic and noise, and enjoy the best gravel The Peak District has to offer.
Gravel Escape takes in the iconic gritstone edges, crosses networks of disused railway lines now covered in champagne gravel, plus epic forest trails, and lesser ridden country lanes that knit the route together, all in a day.
Enjoy a beer and food included in your ticket at the finish!
Support on the route
FEED STATIONS
We are planning to have three feed stations on the 150 and 200km route that will offer food, drink and refills. The 100 route will have two stations.
A range of savoury snacks, sandwiches, fruit, sweets, gels and more will be available.
At each feed station there will be a bike mechanic in case of issues picked up on the route - refilling tubeless tyres with sealant, cleaning a chain of mud and re-lubing etc.
200km - 150km - 100km
THE ROUTES
200
An undulating and challenging tour of the Peak District. You’ll experience all types of gravel, flowing forest trails, breathtaking views and small country lanes. It’ll be a tough but a rewarding day out on the bike!
150
This route takes in many of the iconic landmarks in the 200 and visits some quintessential Peak District villages! For those riders wanting to try a longer day in the saddle but not the full 200.
100
Experience the best gravel the Peak District has to offer with a slightly less jagged elevation profile! It still has its challenges but it will lead to an enjoyable and glorious day out in the saddle.
